Paul Martin

XX cent. Etreta
French Artist, Gouache on paper, 8 x 10 in

Martin ‘s application of dabs of color in the sky,  in the sea and along the cliff is inspired by the Pointillist painters,  Signac and Cross.  The thick white impasto applied to the caps of the waves appears to capture the light, and the movement of the water contributes to the dynamic energy of the seascape.

Two people walking along the shoreline add movement to the composition, and highlight the majestic proportions of the natural elements.
