Francois Charles Baude

Baude studied art at the Julian Academy and the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. He started exhibiting his paintings as of 1905 at the Salon des Artistes Francais, and received awards for his work in 1908 and 1911. He also participated in numerous group exhibitions throughout Europe, in Lille, Gand, Amsterdam and Barcelona.
His paintings are luminous and bold in color, and the interplay of shadow and light adds movement and depth to his animated port scenes and lush provincial landscapes.
